Prayer Day 28: A Prayer of Sanctuary

Week Four Theme: Life Well Lived

Day 28       A Prayer for Sanctuary

(Excerpt from ‘When You and Your Doctor Pray’)

“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” (Ezekiel 47:12 NIV)

My sovereign Lord let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight (Psalm 19:14).

Allow the places of healing where I walk to flow with water from your holy temple.

Let the gospel of Christ be preached through my life and behavior.

May I be a tree whose roots sink deep into your good soil that I may bear all that You would have me to bear for your divine will and purpose.

May I live a long and prosperous life and be in good health as my soul basks in you.

Your glory is my destiny!

Prayer Day 27: A Prayer of Wholeness

Week Four Theme: Life Well Lived

Day 27        A Prayer for Wholeness

(Excerpt from ‘When You and Your Doctor Pray’)

And you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. (Colossians 2:10 NIV)

O thou Great Jehovah!

You are Jehovah-Jireh (the Lord who provides).

You are El-Shaddai (God Almighty)

There is none like you! I praise you and lift you above all circumstances and situations. Your word says that you have come to give life and life more abundantly … above all that we could ask, think or imagine.

You designed my heart, mind and body to work in harmony. You designed my surroundings that I may do your will and show your glory. I must do all that you have called me to do. I cannot be hindered by anything — physically, emotionally or spiritually.

Father, continue to speak life and correction where needed. Reveal yourself to me. I am declaring that I will do what you have instructed me to do with my vocation, family, nutrition, exercise, recreation and rest.

With you, God, I am well, whole and complete … lacking nothing in any area of my life! Although you have blessed me with knowledge, talent, ability and access to resources, I recognize that your power alone is sufficient to save and heal.

I align my mind with your mind that I may do what you have shown me to do in order to achieve the wholeness and balance in my life that you desire. I put down any apathy, excuse, confusion or chaos that may come to disrupt your glorious plans for me to have a healthy mind and body.

I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am positioned to receive wise spiritual counsel, appropriate medical consultation and the wisdom needed to manage busy schedules and numerous responsibilities.

Continue to bring me into my divine destiny as a vessel of sacred service!

In Jesus’ name.

Prayer Day 26: A Prayer for Lifelong Health

Week Four Theme: Life Well Lived

Day 26      A Prayer for Lifelong Health

(Excerpt from ‘When You and Your Doctor Pray’)

O Lord, my God, you are my health and strength.

No good thing will you withhold from those who walk upright before you (Psalm 84:11)

Grant me wisdom with which to frame my life. Give me clear direction so that I can be in pursuit of those things that I need to achieve my destiny. Keep me from activity that brings destruction to my body and soul.

Guide me in Your Word so that I will be able to stand on your promises regarding good health, wholeness and well-being. You sent your Word that has power to heal, and I know that there is still healing in your wings and restoration in your promises.

I am so blessed to call you Lord for you are faithful.

With you is the fountain of life and through you my days will be many and years will be added (Psalm 36:9).

Your glory, God, forever!

Prayer Day 25: Christmas Day!

Week Four Theme: Life Well Lived

Day 25 Christmas Day!

Isaiah 9:6

New King James Version (NKJV)

6 For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

What a wonderful day this represents! The birth of our savior. It is so important to spend time with precious friends, family and loved ones. Please take nothing for granted as nothing is promised and time continues to march on.

As my grandmother used to say to me, just call him! We have many names that we can use in praise and prayer: friend, Lord, provider, healer, peace, marvelous, wonderful, blessed, powerful, counselor, faithful, most high, mighty God, holy one, everlasting father, master … and the list goes on.

TODAY Celebrate our Lord, friends, family, fellowship and manifested love in our lives. Start your own list and call out his many names in prayer throughout the day. He is worthy!

Day 24: Week 4 – 30 Days of Prayer – Life Well Lived

Day 24 Proverbs 3:5-6

Common English Bible (CEB)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;

don’t rely on your own intelligence.

6 Know him in all your paths,

and he will keep your ways straight.

This is really tough for me, that is not just relying on my intelligence. I think that its probably hard for anyone who goes out into the world, fights the good fight, tries to make their way and in many ways is fairly successful at it.

This scripture reminds me that my ways are made through trust and reliance in the truth that’s in my heart and spirit. Acknowledging God in all that I do … that is, seeking his guidance in and through everything.

TODAY On this eve before we celebrate the birth of Jesus, I pray that we really focus on trusting God with all of our heart and understanding what that means day in and day out.

Day 23: Week 4 – 30 Days of Prayer – Life Well Lived

Day 23 Psalm 27:13-14  New International Version (NIV)

13 I remain confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord

in the land of the living.

14 Wait for the Lord;

be strong and take heart

and wait for the Lord.

I originally started this web site to get the word out about my book of prayers. I hoped that it would help others struggling with various issues. I soon discovered that writing out some of these thoughts and ideas about a relationship with God and the importance of prayer is really about helping me as I have struggled with various issues!

Often I reflect about what’s really important to me now, at this age and stage of my life. It helps me to try to stay focused and keep my life moving forward. This scripture often helps me to keep the faith and stay positive…’I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13 NKJV).’

TODAY I pray that we know deep within our hearts and spirits that we WILL see the goodness of God in the land of the living. I pray that we move through life knowing that good things do come to those who wait and whose trust and faith is in The Lord.

Day 22: Week 4 – 30 Days of Prayer – Life Well Lived

Day 22  3 John 1:2 Common English Bible (CEB)

2 Dear friends, I’m praying that all is well with you and that you enjoy good health in the same way that you prosper spiritually.

Beloved,  I am praying that we all enjoy good health even as

advance, arrive, augment, batten, are enriched, bear, bear fruit, become rich, become wealthy, benefit, bloom, blossom, catch on, do well, do wonders, fare well, fatten, feather nest, flourish, flower, gain, get on, get there, go places, go to town, grow rich, hit it big, hit the jackpot, increase, make a killing, make good, make it, make mark, multiply, produce, progress, rise, strike it rich, thrive, turn out well, yield…

As we come to the end of one year, prepare to embark on another and celebrate the birth of Jesus during this wonderful Christmas season, its important to remember that out of our spiritual riches true health and prosperity flows. Time and ‘intention’ has to be given to our spiritual health as much as our physical health.

Intention, that is, to spend time and give attention to our spiritual development with prayer, bible study, reading and meditation.

TODAY I pray that we prosper in mind, body and spirit.

Day 21: Week 3 – 30 Days of Prayer – Fullness of Life

Day 21  Review and Reflect

Dear God, help us to dwell in the ‘well-watered places’ – places of abundance as we grow in our relationship with you. Help us to know and understand our own strengths so that we understand our capacity for the plans that you have for our hope and future. Give us the correct mindset that allows us to move forward in faith and courage. As we look to the hills where our help comes from, we seek to be in your presence where there is fullness of joy and life well lived!

Day 20: Week 3 – 30 Days of Prayer – Fullness of Life

Day 20 Fullness

1. completely filled; containing all that can be held; filled to utmost capacity

2. complete; entire; maximum

3. of the maximum size, amount, extent, volume, etc.

4. wide, ample

5. abundant; well-supplied

When I look at how fullness is defined, it makes the statement, ‘fullness of life’ really meaningful and impactful to me. Oh how I want it to be said that I live a life completely filled, containing all that can be held, to the utmost capacity!

It is said that Jesus saves, to the utmost. Some have also added from the gutter-most to the utmost. Whatever the case may be, I am reminded of the scripture reference from earlier this week, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

TODAY Focus in prayer on fullness of life

Day 19: Week 3 – 30 Days of Prayer – Fullness of Life

Day 19  Psalm 16:11  New King James Version (NKJV)

11 You will show me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

What does it mean to be ‘in your presence’ as stated in this Psalm? When we are in the presence of loved ones, friends and family, we are spending time, talking, listening and enjoying them occupying the same physical place where we are.

The same is true when in the presence of God … talking, listening and enjoying the knowledge that He is here, Emmanuel, God with us! As I am hustling and bustling about trying to ‘make Christmas happen’ with all the planning and preparation, it is so important that I stop to remember that Christmas has already happened. Now is just the time that we celebrate His coming.

Because He did, we have the reality of a full life!

TODAY Focus in prayer on being in His presence with fullness of joy
